Awaiting

The leaves turn

Telling of the changing times

They fall

As if the sorrow of the world falls with it

The cold comes

Covering every inch of warmth

Erasing the memories of season before this

To be full and blooming

Like the day when spring comes

Awaiting the laughter

Awaiting the rains for summer

And yet its cold

Dark

Days get shorter

My happiness seems to drain

Living in the cold and dark

Living in the ugly

Just waiting for the beauty
